THIRD.
WE FINISHED THIRD.
Sorry, couldn’t resist!
It’s Friday and Liverpool have carried on the good times with a brand spanking new signing (and an absolute corker of one at that) to sweeten the rim of the champagne flute that was our successful qualification for the Champions League next season.
Now that the curtain has been drawn on our Premier League campaign, however, the madness may truly begin.
If you thought we were being linked with every single name under the sun during the season of domestic football, just you wait till we get right into the thick of the transfer window.
That’s not to suggest that we in any way want to distance ourselves from transfer talk (at least not the rational rumours and links) - far from it!
We’ve seen the club’s first signing tackle a critical issue that’s been bothering us all year but now’s the time to address other key areas and get back in contention for the best trophies on offer.
The two immediate positions that stand out as being in desperate need of reinforcement: up top and right in the middle of the park.
On the face of it, we’ve got a world-class starting selection of talent to make most sides in Europe go green with envy.
Not to mention, the strong finish to the campaign by the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane suggest that we’ll be getting the best out of both next term and hopefully in front of a fully-packed Anfield!
That being said, every team can improve year-on-year, as Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged, and we’d be massively surprised if the beloved German stuck to his guns without dipping further into the transfer market.
Speaking of which, we’ve got two potential targets that could be ideal fits - one of which our fellow Liverpool fans have voted on! Keep your eyes peeled, Reds.

Liverpool complete first summer signing for £35m!
Given the injury crisis we’ve somehow managed to navigate our way past, many of you will be delighted to hear about our first major piece of business ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Jurgen Klopp has been keeping track of the 22-year-old for some time now and has already made an exciting prediction regarding the player for the next season.
Mbappe may be one step closer to a Liverpool move after Zidane’s Real Madrid decision…
Kylian Mbappe’s contract is set to expire next summer, which means all the top outfits in Europe are on high alert, with the forward looking no closer to signing a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain. Real Madrid were thought to be ahead of Liverpool in the race for the World Cup-winner’s signature, though recent events may have turned the tables in our favour…
14,000 Liverpool fans decide whether or not a £35m Premier League star would make a good Wijnaldum replacement
Quite a few of us have admired the player from afar for some time now and with Gini Wijnaldum now out of the picture it’s an interesting signing that could come to pass. We can’t have just anyone, of course, an ideal replacement has to be robust, resistant to an opposition press… in short, reliable. On that note, just wait till you hear how often the 24-year-old we’ve identified gets injured - it’ll blow your mind!
Alberto Moreno makes a huge claim about Jurgen Klopp and his time at Liverpool after the Europa League final
Good ol’ Albie Moreno has been doing the rounds of late and rightly so after Villarreal’s penalty shootout victory over Manchester United in the latest Europa League final (GET OUT MAN UTD! GET OUT!). Back in 2016, however, when the fullback still plied his trade at Liverpool, the Reds weren’t as fortunate against Unai Emery’s Sevilla, and Moreno had a few things to get off his chest about the period that followed.
And last but not least…
Liverpool are letting Ozan Kabak go… but Klopp wants to hold on to a defender who hasn’t played ONE minute of football
Having been thrown into action in a baptism of fire against Leicester City, Ozan Kabak adjusted to life at Liverpool with impressive speed considering the circumstances that had prompted his loan spell from Schalke 04. As things stand, however, we’ll be saying our goodbyes to the Turkey international but bizarrely putting our faith in a centre-half who couldn’t break into the starting XI… Go figure!
