🔴 EOTK INSIDER 🔴: Liverpool could pull off transfer coup, the man who could replace Klopp... and more! ✍️
Whilst Liverpool's inactivity in the window was seen as being motivated by financial limitations, the club may have inadvertently put itself in a position to bring in a quality signing on the cheap 🤔
The name’s Klopp, Jürgen Klopp.
The Liverpool boss was quick to laugh off Daniel Craig’s - AKA, James Bond - suggestion that he had all the makings of a good Bond.
Whilst we may not be treated to a generous helping of the former Borussia Dortmund boss on the big screen anytime soon, the actor was absolutely spot-on when it came to Klopp’s leadership abilities.
Couple this with one of Klopp’s other main selling points, a proficiency in carving out a world-beating talent from a rough but promising product, and Liverpool have a man in charge who allows them to compete effectively with the side’s big-spending rivals both abroad and domestically.
Rare is the moment when we need to go out and buy a £70-100m player when we can just merely develop them from a suitable age.
That’s why it makes so much sense for the club’s recruitment team to narrow down their search parameters to the 20-24-year-old age group.
Indeed, just over 57% of our transfers (excluding loans) during the German’s tenure have been players who fit that exact profile or younger.
As such, it’s not hard to see how a player like Fábio Vieira could be our next major transfer.
At 21 years of age, the midfielder earns himself a ticket through the initial screening process.
What would make the Portuguese an interesting option beyond that point, however, is his versatility of position, with roles ranging from a deep midfield slot to higher up on the pitch behind the forward line apparently not phasing the No.50.
We didn’t catch the famous and dreaded (for opposition fans) Klopp hug, though one Liverpool man’s interaction with Vieira has certainly raised eyebrows in that regard.
Beyond that, our meeting with FC Porto in the Champions League yielded other intriguing insights that may bode well for the remainder of our campaign…
Lijnders spotted chatting to former Porto Academy starlet – Liverpool have been tracking the midfielder for some time now
According to reliable Liverpool journalist, Melissa Reddy, the midfielder in question has been a person of interest for a lengthy period of time for our scouting department. With his contract expiring next summer, would we be daft to not take advantage and fill a gap in the squad?
#Ep14 of The Red Nets Podcast: Some Liverpool fans identify potential Klopp successor, Toney rumours… and more!
With Liverpool thought to remain in need of a new forward, the club’s goal glutz of a draw with Brentford yielded a potential option the Reds could pursue in future windows. Some supporters even noticed some interesting similarities between two men in the dugout, which could solve a MAJOR problem for Liverpool in future.
Remarkable stat that emerged from Liverpool’s win over Porto at the Estádio do Dragão suggests rivals should be seriously worried
Liverpool did appear to benefit from some rather poor goalkeeping on the night, however, a 5-1 win is still nothing to sniff at - particularly against Champions League-quality opposition. The pundits who were so quick to write us off this term should take a long, hard look at the one stat that may have skipped past their radars.
And last but not least…
Reported target reaffirms Liverpool link in post-match Instagram post… a ‘come get me’ plea?
It’s certainly possible we’re looking into this too much… though given the prior links to the 25-year-old - who registered a whopping 31 league goals in the Championship last term - it’s plausible that the forward could be a genuine target. The fact he’s a Liverpool fan too has hardly been a well-kept secret.
