🔴 EOTK INSIDER 🔴: Liverpool target likes Reds, what Klopp's contract means for transfers... and more! ✍️
The good news keeps coming for Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2026
It all began with a kitchen chat between Jurgen Klopp and his wife, Ulla, with the latter admitting that it was difficult to see them uprooting their life in Liverpool as early as the summer of 2024.
Discussions with Pep Lijnders and the other key members of the German’s backroom staff added to a growing consensus that an early departure was simply not on the cards, and so here we are.
Another two years of our fist-pumping, belief machine in the red half of Merseyside.
[Klopp confirmed that Pep Lijnders was a major influence on his decision to sign a contract extension]
The implications are potentially seismic. To start locally with the squad, a mind-boggling array of world-class talent now gunning for a historic quadruple, it raises questions around how it might impact upon the decision-making of Mohamed Salah with regard to his contract talks.
With Jurgen now staying until the summer of 2026, the Egyptian King will be set to turn 34 shortly after the manager’s potential last season in charge.
Could this be the crucial piece of the puzzle that the No.11 was referring to when insisting the impasse on talks didn’t have everything to do with money?
“We just want to guarantee that everyone who wants to be here knows what he can expect,” Klopp told reporters at his pre-Newcastle United press conference.
That point, in particular, may not have been aimed directly at his star attacker, though it’s one that’s certainly more than fitting.
Under the former Borussia Dortmund tactician’s stewardship, Liverpool have steamrolled their way up to the peak of English and European football (albeit a peak grudgingly shared with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City outfit).
Two extra years fundamentally promises, as 54-year-old put it, ‘stability’.
No one could blame Salah for feeling a little worried about what a Klopp-less future might look like, especially when considering how to spend his peak footballing years.
It’s a problem for the near future and the long-term but while we’re here it’s very much worth appreciating the present and the reality of two more years with the affable German at the helm of Liverpool Football Club.

The one Liverpool star Jurgen Klopp can’t afford to lose?
It’s a bold call, we admit, but we’re not referring to the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, nor even Salah… An ode to one of the most important men in the Liverpool squad who could prove difficult to replace.
