Welcome to Empire’s Fantasy Premier League review! Let’s see how the league’s shaping up!

For those trying out FPL for the first time, GOAL advise players to keep in mind the following ranges when tracking their scores:
“FPL gurus and seasoned managers generally agree that averaging 50-59 points every gameweek is the bare minimum target. A gameweek score between 60-75 points is considered good, and between 76-99 points are excellent. 100 points or more is an outstanding achievement that falls into winner's bracket.
“Using the gameweek's average score as a benchmark is potentially a more effective method since it changes automatically each week and makes it easier to track your progress. By attaining the gameweek's average points throughout the season, you will at least be in the top half by the end of the season.”
You’ll see weekly updates on the Liverpool players bringing in the most points on average, plus the BIG hitters from the other fixtures across the Premier League (watch out for Bernardo Silva, Mo Salah and Andy Robertson this week!).
💬 The greatest question of our time: Will you captain Mo Salah or Erling Haaland for Gameweek 6?
As ever, we’re supplying weekly form rankings, so you can get an idea of the players that are beginning to hit form at the right moment, hopefully, before their transfer fees soar through the roof!

🤕 Injury Watch 🤕
We’re five games into the season and already there are a few doubts across the Premier League that are worth bearing in mind when preparing your teams for Gameweek 6… we’ve collated a few of the big names and how likely they are to play a part:
🔫ARSENAL: Gabriel Martinelli: Muscle injury (50% chance of playing), Mohamed Elneny: Knee injury (unknown return date).
🗣️Mikel Arteta: “He [Martinelli] felt something in his hamstring and we need to do some further tests to assess if there is any big damage or not… but he will be out for tomorrow’s game [Champions League], that’s for sure…. He’s [Elneny] in a good place, obviously it’s been a while and it’s been a very significant injury, but I think he’s in the latter stages of that rehab process. He’s been training for almost two weeks with the team and he is in a good place.”
🟣ASTON VILLA: Jacob Ramsey: Foot injury (50% chance of playing), Diego Carlos: Hamstring injury (unknown return date)
🔵BRIGHTON: Solly March: Muscle injury (75% chance of playing)
🗣️ Roberto De Zerbi: “I don't decide yet but yes they [Ferguson and Fati] can start they are in good condition – they are like Joao Pedro and Welbeck. I am lucky because I have good solutions… Solly plays tomorrow.”
🐝BRENTFORD: Rico Henry: Knee injury (expected back 1 June), Kristoffer Ajer: Knock (75% chance of playing), Ben Mee: Knock (75% chance of playing), Mikkel Damsgaard: Muscle injury (50% chance of playing)
🦁 CHELSEA: Moises Caicedo: Knee injury (75% chance of playing), Noni Madueke: Muscle injury (75% chance of playing), Marc Cucurella: Ilness (75% chance of playing)
💎CRYSTAL PALACE: Jordan Ayew: Dead leg (75% chance of playing)
🍬EVERTON: Jack Harrison: Lack of match fitness (unknown availability)
🗣️ Sean Dyche: “It’s the early stages of true fitness, he tests well and he looks free - with injuries sometimes they don’t look free but he does. He looks clear and ready to go but it’s about getting him up to speed.”
⚪️ FULHAM: Antonee Robinson: Muscle injury (75% chance of playing)
🔴LIVERPOOL: Trent Alexander-Arnold: Hamstring injury (50% chance of playing)
🗣️ Jurgen Klopp: “He didn’t train with the team once yet and will take a little bit. It is not the worst hamstring injury you can have but it’s a hamstring injury and they barely heal in two weeks — and this one didn’t, either.”
🟠 LUTON: Ross Barkley: Hamstring injury (50% chance of playing)
🔵 MANCHESTER CITY: Mateo Kovacic: Back injury (50% chance of playing), John Stones: Muscle injury (50% chance of playing), Kevin De Bruyne: Hamstring injury (Expected back 16 Dec), Jack Grealish: Thigh injury (Expected back 30 Sep)
🗣️ Pep Guardiola: “We are in trouble but I am not going to say ‘oh, we have a lot of injuries’. It is what it is… we have five really important players injured and to sustain that for a long time would be difficult… unfortunately it is a long time for Kevin. John didn’t play, it’s a little bit long. Maybe Kova is coming back. Jack maybe in a week or 10 days, but after he needs his condition.”
👹 MANCHESTER UNITED: Raphael Varane: Knock (50% chance of playing), Mason Mount: Knock (50% chance of playing), Harry Maguire: Muscle injury (75% chance of playing)
⚫️ NEWCASTLE: Alex Murphy: Knock (75% chance of playing), Joe Willock: Achilles injury (Expected back 21 Oct)
🗣️ Eddie Howe: “He’s [Willock] been away in Spain for the last week. Change of environment and focus for him. There’s been a disappointment there because he’s suffered setbacks. He’s such a key player for us. Our aim is to get him back as soon as possible and back to his best form.”
🌲 NOTTINGHAM FOREST: Willy Boly: Illness (75% chance of playing), Serge Aurier: Knock (75% chance of playing)
⚔️ SHEFFIELD UNITED: John Egan: Knock (50% chance of playing), William Osula: (50% chance of playing)
🐔 TOTTENHAM: Giovani Lo Celso: Thigh injury (50% chance of playing)
⚒️ WEST HAM: Edson Alvarez: Knock (75% chance of playing)
🐺 WOLVES: Rayan Ait-Nouri: Fatigue (75% chance of playing), Joe Hodge: Hamstring injury (50% chance of playing)

A slight mishap on my end with Trent Alexander-Arnold left in the XI for the Wolves win despite his injury!
I’ve brought in Bryan Mbeumo (a stat monster since Gameweek 1) and Pedro Neto to, hopefully, get me back up above the average next week 🤞
I would keep the Wolves star benched beyond their upcoming fixture with Luton Town.
