🔴 EOTK INSIDER 🔴: Liverpool look in a strong position to make January midfield signing, Bellingham update... and more ✍️
Most of the focus has been on the business Liverpool could conduct next summer but it seems we may need to look closer at the January window
We’re getting rather bored (as much as our fellow Liverpool fans, we imagine) of hearing about Liverpool prioritising a midfielder in the summer window NEXT YEAR.
Still the rumours keep coming and here we are keeping you updated about all the wonderful midfielders we COULD go for next year - prime amongst them being the crown jewel of prospective signings, Jude Bellingham.
The further along in the season we go, the more venerating a tone reports seem to affect; we’re convinced articles will have knighted the Englishman just as the first spring blossoms appear, right before the summer where he shall be henceforth known as his eminence, Sir Jude Bellingham.
The 19-year-old registered 20 goal contributions in 44 appearances (across all competitions) last term
Now, that’s not to appear glib or in any way unappreciative of the magnitude of such a potential signing for Liverpool Football Club.
Rightly considered a potential generational talent by many a commentator, the former Birmingham City prospect is deemed to be categorically the perfect addition for Jürgen Klopp’s men at a time where the midfield isn’t just merely in need of a varnish but has, at points, appeared close to the point of requiring resuscitation.
Though classy playmaker Thiago Alcantara’s return has more than papered over the cracks, we’re an injury to the Spaniard away from the holes in the drywall being exposed once again.

Injuries, have, admittedly played a large part in inspiring ongoing concerns around the midfield department.
With a full complement of playing staff in the middle of the park, the quality is there for Liverpool. A starting three of Fabinho, Thiago and skipper Jordan Henderson isn’t anything to sniff at on their best day.
Jordan Henderson remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, though the Reds have since welcomed back Thiago Alcantara
That being said, it can’t be ignored that the latter two are on the wrong side of 30 (an issue that seems more endemic to our captain by comparison) and that three midfielders beyond them are on contracts all expiring next year.
On that basis, Liverpool don’t just need to sign one midfielder next year - they MUST make it at least two.
The good news is that the Reds are allegedly already making efforts in that regard for as early as the winter window with Joao Gomes of Flamengo touted as a potential option.
