Reviewing the season so far

If you look at the general state of the league table (three points off the top!) and the fact Manchester City aren’t streaking away at the summit either, it’s all looking quite positive and it feels rather open at the moment! The way Liverpool have played, some of the results they’ve had, the fixtures they’ve had… it does, I think, give real cause for optimism. Especially when you compare recent events to the prior campaign. If I was writing on 16th October last year, I think it would be a very different mood and vibe at Liverpool under discussion! If you look at the next batch of fixtures that are coming up after this international break, there’s a sense that Liverpool can make some progress and put themselves in a very strong position. They’ve had a good start - that’s all it is - but it’s better to have a good start than a bad one! Liverpool have put themselves in a position now where they can build on it.
