Hello and welcome to my column with Empire of the Kop! You can read about all the latest updates around Liverpool Football Club and its forays into the transfer market right here, every week, with EOTK Insider. Thanks for giving this a read and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Today’s top stories:

  • Chelsea interest in Romeo Lavia raises an interesting point about the player

  • The defensive midfielders Liverpool could still look to sign this summer…

  • And further updates on Aurelien Tchouameni, Ibrahim Sangare, John Henry and more!

Liverpool ultimately lost players they didn’t expect to lose in Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. I think they sniffed an opportunity with Caicedo whilst Chelsea were still yet to agree a deal. I think they were probably given some encouragement by Brighton, or perhaps by someone else, that Chelsea were struggling to agree a deal and that there was an opening for Liverpool to come in and pose a question.
