Hello and welcome to my column with Empire of the Kop! You can read about all the latest updates around Liverpool Football Club and its forays into the transfer market right here, every week, with EOTK Insider. Thanks for giving this a read and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Today’s top stories:

  • Dominik Szoboszlai just formed a potentially special midfield partnership - not with Alexis Mac Allister!

  • Concern over Liverpool defender’s form…

  • And further updates on Jarell Quansah, Ryan Gravenberch, Joe Gomez and more!

Jurgen Klopp has already mentioned in one of his pressers that it’s important to first get to grips with this current team before we start throwing potential transfer targets into the mix. But it doesn’t matter, does it? It doesn’t matter in this period as he’s not going to be able to play, he’s not going to change the world - with the greatest of respect, he’s a 22-year-old who plays in Brazil. You’re not waiting for Kylian Mbappe to come in and then all of a sudden everything’s going to be okay. He would be another player who goes into that rotation of midfielders.
