For the first time in seven years and five months, Anfield will play host to a Europa League fixture on Thursday night when Liverpool welcome Union Saint-Gilloise in a first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

The Reds go into the game two points clear at the top of Group E after victory over LASK a fortnight ago, with the Belgian side and Toulouse on one point each following their draw last time out.

Jurgen Klopp and his players - and indeed many Kopites - may just be relieved to have another match to focus upon amid the ongoing fallout from last Saturday’s contentious defeat to Tottenham. We don’t need to go over the specifics of what happened here; we trust that you’re more than aware of those already.

Liverpool’s line-up will most likely see plenty of changes from the loss in north London, although Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota could both start against Union SG given their unavailability for Sunday’s trip to Brighton due to domestic suspension owing to their red cards against Spurs.

The likes of Caoimhin Kelleher, Ben Doak, Harvey Elliott, Ryan Gravenberch and Kostas Tsimikas will probably be in the starting XI too, with many of the usual faces rested ahead of the visit to the Amex Stadium.

🗨️ What changes to the line-up do you expect to see on Thursday? Is there anyone in particular who deserves a start or could do with a breather?
