Assessing Liverpool’s summer window

I think it was tough and turbulent. A lot of the things that happened you wouldn’t have anticipated! Liverpool knew they were losing players on free transfers in James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. I thought there might have been some more departures… potentially Joel Matip, maybe Thiago Alcantara… and then you see Jordan Henderson and Fabinho actually end up going! It’s obviously a big upheaval but you look at Liverpool now and how they’ve come out of the window and I don’t think they’re that far away from having a very, very good squad.
