Great read this Farrell, I think we share very similar views on the situation. I’m 100% ‘Glazers Out’ and always have been but some things are so much bigger than football, and I would be absolutely gutted with owners that do not value human rights in their country, for a club I’ve loved since I was a child.
Also equally disgusted with some of the stuff I’ve seen from fellow United fans in recent weeks, seemingly all their morals have disappeared as soon as the prospect of oil money has come into question, despite mocking City for their successes with it over the past 10 years 🤔 I can’t help but feel as though, if it does go through, whatever we win will always feel a little tainted.
Thanks Izzie, that's very kind! I think there's a tendency for things to get a bit tribal on this - especially when competitive capabilities are brought into play. Ultimately, it would be hugely disappointing to see either Liverpool or United bring on such owners (though, having had Hicks and Gillett prior to FSG, I completely sympathise with wanting the Glazers out).
There's been quite a few Reds online who seem to be doing the same thing. I think you're spot on regarding tainting silverware wins. Conversely, of course, if alternative ownership is secured that fits the values of the club, any trophies won will feel extra special whilst City and Newcastle persist with their current owners.
